Let us practice absolute sex
Column: PERFECTBALANCELIFE
The practice of absolute sex is the best way to experience stable, productive, and healthy relationships. Any sex practice other than absolute sex leads to tragic consequences. When we fail to recognize the purpose and value of our sexual organs we always destroy ourselves and those around us. Recent events in the news once again confirm this reality.
On August 8, 2008, just five months after former New York governor, Elliot Spitzer, resigned from his office due to his sexual improprieties with a prostitute, John Edwards, former Democratic vice presidential nominee, and former North Carolina senator publicly admitted he cheated on his wife. Ten month earlier Edwards confidently denied the National Enquirer’s breaking story about his affair with 42-year-old Rielle Hunter. During his public admission Edwards declared, “I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.”
Absolute sex is a term I first heard about during a sermon preached by the minister of my church. I’d like to highlight some of the key points shared during this sermon. I agree with all of them.
-The most important organs in your body are your sexual organs.
-Your sexual organs exist for the sake of your marriage partner, not just yourself.
-The practice of physical sexual love relationships outside of the context of the marriage relationship destroys people’s lives.
-The dividing line between heaven and hell is determined by how we use our sexual organs.
-Free sex—sex without accountability or responsibility—is the road to death and destruction for individuals, families, and the larger world.
-God wants to be directly involved in the experience of physical sexual love between men and women who practice absolute sex in marriage.
-Healthy physical sexual relations practiced between faithful marriage partners vitalizes creativity, joy, and inspiration.
Absolute sex is a powerful practice indeed. I can attest to this fact after practicing it for the past twenty-six years with my wife.
